Corrections and Retractions policies
Rarely, it may be necessary for ARUMS PRESS to publish corrections to or retractions of articles published in its journals to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the published record by rectifying errors and removing flawed research.
Corrections used for:
Might involve mistakes in data, figures, tables, or methodological details.
Corrections are typically published as soon as possible after the error is identified, and they are clearly linked to the original article. The correction itself should specify the nature of the error and any impact it has on the interpretation of the results.
Retractions used for:
Fabrication or falsification of data
Plagiarism
Ethical violations during research conduct
Undisclosed conflicts of interest
Authorship issues
JArUMS will follow the COPE guidelines in such cases. Retraction process initiate usually by the authors, editors, or readers who identify a significant issue with the published article. Editors thoroughly investigate the concerns and check with the authors. If retraction is estimated necessary, a retraction notice is published. This notice clearly states the cause for retraction. Links to the original article, which is usually deactivated to avoid further citation. |
